With our 2befair touch-up pens you can quickly and easily repair small scratches and stone chips on your Tesla. Our 2befair touch-up pen set consists of a main varnish and a clear varnish. A base coat is also included for the white paint. Thanks to the integrated brush in the lid of the touch-up pen, application is quick and easy. For fine scratches you can simply use a toothpick to apply. Suitable for Tesla Model 3, Model Y, Model S and Model X.

We offer our 2befair touch-up pens in the following colors:

  • Pearl White Multi-Coat (PPSW)
  • Midnight Silver Metallic (PMNG)
  • Solid Black (PBSB)
  • Deep Blue Metallic (PPSB)
  • Red Multi Coat (PPMR)

If you have ordered the white paint with 2 coats (before May 30th, 2023), you can still order the base coat here if necessary.

Application tips:

Preparation: Before repairing, the damaged area must be thoroughly cleaned. First carefully remove rust and coarse dirt. It is important to ensure that the surrounding vehicle paint is not damaged. Then remove fine dirt with an ear swab and silicone remover (if not available, with mineral spirits). For heavily rusted areas, we recommend prior treatment with a rust converter such as Tannox.

Applying base coat (only for white): Shake the touch-up pen vigorously for at least 30 seconds before use so that the color particles are evenly distributed. After opening, wipe the brush on the touch-up pen bottle or on a piece of plastic or glass, do not paint. This is necessary to remove excess varnish from the brush, which would result in a thick, uneven application of paint. Carefully dab the paint onto the area to be repaired (do not paint, otherwise streaks will appear). Make sure that the varnish is applied very thinly. If the paint is only damaged in a very small area, e.g. B. in the event of a stone chip, use a special paint swab or a toothpick to apply only small portions of paint. If possible, try to apply very thin coats. If the scratch to be repaired is very deep, the process can be repeated two to three times. Make sure that the underlying paint layer is completely dry each time. 20 to 30 minutes should be allowed for each coat of paint. The base coat takes 12 to 24 hours to dry.

Applying the main paint: Shake the paint pen vigorously for at least 30 seconds before use so that the paint particles are evenly distributed. Make sure that the underlying paint layer is completely dry each time. You should allow 20 to 30 minutes per coat of paint. The main coat takes 12 to 24 hours to dry.

Applying clear varnish: The clear varnish is thicker than the main varnish and must therefore be applied particularly sparingly. A slight bump after applying the clear coat can be removed by sanding and polishing. After applying the clear coat, you must wait at least 24 hours before continuing to work on the area. However, 72 hours is recommended!

Optional sanding: After the clear coat has hardened, the repair area and the surrounding area can be wet sanded with 2000 or 3000 grit water sandpaper. Then clean the area thoroughly with plenty of water. This step is primarily intended for large-scale damage.

Optional re-polishing: As soon as the surface has been sanded smooth, the entire surface can be re-polished. Before re-polishing, the processed areas must be thoroughly dried, otherwise the new paint can be damaged during polishing, due to the friction of a polishing machine or by hand. If everything was done according to instructions, the repair area should be practically invisible.

Temperature: The ambient temperature at work should be between 13 and 25 degrees Celsius. Direct sunlight should be avoided. This can cause the car paint to dry out too quickly in places. If the paint has temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius before processing, it can also be warmed carefully with a hairdryer, otherwise the paint applied with the touch-up pen will not bond properly with the old paint layer. The touch-up pen itself should always have a temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius and should never be exposed to frost.

Warnings: Repairing paint damage yourself with a touch-up pen can be very successful, but it does not replace a visit to a professional paint workshop. The use of the touch-up pen set is always at your own risk. The user is liable for any damage caused to the vehicle by using the touch-up pen. Car paint should never come into contact with eyes or mucous membranes. When working with touch-up pens, we recommend wearing disposable rubber gloves. Do not store car paint near children or animals.
