These screens are a central hub for most vehicle functions, including music, vehicle settings, navigation and more. Tesla's commitment to minimalist and user-friendly design is demonstrated by the integration of these screens, which have become an iconic feature of electric vehicles.

Tesla Cybertruck

Front display : The Cybertruck's screen is 18.5 inches horizontal, making it the largest screen in a Tesla. The resolution is 2650x1440, which corresponds to an aspect ratio of about 16:9, similar to the Model Y.

Instrument cluster : Like the Model 3 and Model Y, the Cybertruck does not have an instrument cluster. Instead, speedometer, battery information and visualizations are displayed on the central screen.

Rear Display : The Cybertruck features a rear display between the two front seats, similar to the Model S/X. The touchscreen measures 9.4 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 1440x900. Although this rear screen is primarily used for entertainment purposes, it features a 16:10 aspect ratio instead of the more traditional 16:9.

Tesla Model 3 & Model Y

Front display : The Model 3 and Model Y, on the other hand, take a different approach to screen design. Both models forgo an instrument cluster and instead rely on a single central 15.4-inch touchscreen with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The screen has a resolution of 1920x1200, which is just under 150 PPI. This minimalist approach further highlights Tesla's commitment to a clean, user-friendly interface.

Rear display : Like the newer Model S & X, the new Model 3 (from the end of 2023) also has a rear display. The touchscreen measures 8 inches diagonally, but is only available in the newer Model 3. It is also expected to appear in the facelifted Model Y when it launches in 2025.

Tesla Model 3 (2024) Highland

Front display : The Model 3 (2024) Highland features a 15.4-inch central touchscreen display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The resolution is 1920 by 1200 pixels, which is just under 150 PPI. This minimalist approach further highlights Tesla's commitment to a clean and user-friendly interface.

Tesla Model S & Model X

2012-2020 : Between 2012 and 2020, the Model S and Model X featured vertical screens that stood out for their impressive size and orientation. These screens measured 17 inches diagonally and enabled intuitive control of the various vehicle functions.

2021-present : In 2021, Tesla introduced a significant update to the Model S and Model X, replacing the vertical screens with horizontal ones. The new 17-inch screen features a 16:9.5 aspect ratio, offering users a more immersive experience. The screen has a resolution of 2200x1300 pixels, which is approximately 150 pixels per inch (PPI). Tesla later introduced the ability to tilt the central screen left and right so that it could face the driver or passenger.

Instrument Cluster : The instrument cluster remains present in the newer models to ensure drivers can easily access important information. However, Tesla added an 8-inch rear display for entertainment. In 2022, Tesla updated the rear display by reducing the bezels, resulting in a slightly larger screen size. The rear display has a resolution of 1440x900 pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:10.

Tesla Semi Truck

Front display : The Tesla Semi Truck, a large electric truck designed for long-distance transportation, has two 15-inch screens located to the left and right of the driver. These screens replace the traditional instrument cluster and provide the driver with important information and access to various controls. Due to the specific use of the semi truck, no rear screen is required.
